But once you take the time to get used to how different it is, the game is amazing. And challenging in a good way. My biggest complaint with the 2K series is how unbearably easy it is. If you haven't played Fire Pro Returns in a while and set the match difficulty to 8, you're probably going to get absolutely raped.
Every once in a while I still like to play a match against the computer, and it's rarely a squash match. So the gameplay takes practice, but it's very solid and consistent. I think a lot of people are still playing the game because the 2K series has a tendency to be kind of glitchy. You have so much control over the matches too. For example, I love the fact that you can control the overall speed of matches.
If I'm doing a Ricochet vs. If it's a dream match between Katsuyori Shibata and Big Show, I might make it so that there's a higher chance of the match ending in a KO. There are some other charming bells and whistles you won't find in WWE games too.
Another reason I prefer the game is because I'm simply not a big fan of the WWE product anymore, and Fire Pro will always be a better representation of the much larger, diverse world of wrestling. Hallowicked for the Chikara Grand Championship. I can't have Hayabusa dragon suplex Sabu off the apron into exploding barbed wire on the floor. I can't have 8 men in the ring at once for tag matches and battle royals.
I can't book a shoot fight between Lesnar and Lashley in an octagon. In Fire Pro, you can do all of that. Sure, the graphics kind of the suck and there is a lot they could have done better, but it's a great game that still holds up really well, in my opinion. For anyone who may not know, it's important to keep in mind that Fire Pro Wrestling Returns was released in In , the game had a ring customization, ref customization, and even a primitive logo creator in edition to custom wrestlers.
Imagine what they could do 12 years later! I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but if a new Fire Pro is half as innovative as FPR was back then, it's going to be an incredible game. Just saying That was my main point. You can't just follow the classic FP formula now and expect an amazing game What innovation would they add that would allow them to surpass what 2K offers?
Better weapons and more arena options Maybe music customization with some sort of built-in sound editor. Like Mario Paint Some things I'd like to see in addition to the things you mentioned, that would continue to set it apart from the WWE series:. If there really is going to be another Fire Pro game, I could see it including some of this stuff, especially if it's going to be in the classic 2D style.
FP has a referee leniency setting, doesn't it? Like, some refs are stricter than others when it comes to rule enforcement and count pinfalls slower than others? Also saw there was online play. Good stuff. User Info: llcoolyea llcoolyea 3 years ago 1. Im not sure what the exact number is but i have to have about Sucks because i thought we would be able to save as many as our HDD could hold but thats not true. When i first started to sub to characters i would save them all. The PS4 and PC versions have different community created pools, unfortunately.
There's great stuff on both, though. BTW what gave you the idea SC would put wrestlers from other promotions in the game this time around? This game's been out for a long time before it ever hit the PS4.
They actually did add NJPW wrestlers but seems like the goal from the start was to leave the roster completely up to the individual player. I get that may not be a good thing for some people but it shouldnt have been a shock after all this time and if it's that big of a deal maybe you should move on or at least stop crying about it. Does anybody know the Subscribe limit? Yeah its posted on the home page of Fire Pro World Something like CAWs and I forget how many refs and ring textures.
It's under one of the update notifications and they explain they will do away with the limit when they fix whatever's causing the game to crash from too many edits. I just hit my limit too. Of course you know you have to create a new wrestler to edit the download but you also have to delete the download from the VPW Net under "Uninstall" AND you have to close the game and restart it to completely remove them from the game.
I went through and deleted around or so and for some reason I didnt close the game and they were all magically back the next time I fired it up. But until they are completely deleted they will count as CAWs.
I don't know if you did that already but seeing as how you said you have around and it's saying you hit you're limit it sounds like they're being counted twice. I'm glad a game finally went with the direct hard drive save but yeah the search mode is a mess. Both online and in game. Having to search through thousands of edits some in Japanese with no real way to narrow down WHO you're looking for and then scrolling down your own list instead of being able to just go to where they're saved is kind of a pain as well.
DTownsendF13 posted Nice deflection kid. Game is still incomplete.
